Intro
Welcome to the Best year of your life yet! I declare by faith that there will be blessings and breakthroughs in Jesus’s name. Do you believe it?
I can pray for you, but by faith, I need you to believe it, too, deal?
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6.
What is a Biblical Fast?
A Biblical Fast means to abstain from food for some time to seek God for direction or a breakthrough in an area in your life. There are different types of fasts that people have done in the Bible, such as those where one consumes nothing except Water or no food or just fruits and vegetables. Some examples of those who fasted and what they did are listed below:
Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”Esther 4:16.
Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and Water to drink. Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.” So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.”Daniel 1:12-14.
“After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.” Matthew 4:2.

Did God lead you? Why are you doing this fast?
The type of fast you decide to do is up to God and you. Prayerfully, God has spoken to you and led you toward a Biblical fast. But ask yourself some crucial questions:
-Why do I want to Fast?
-What has led me to this decision?
-What do I want to get from being on this Fast?
-How long will I be on this Fast?
-Can I commit to the time I say? and be a finisher, not a quitter
-When will I make time for prayer, worship, and reading the Bible?

Pick the type of Fast:
Before picking a Fast that you feel is most convenient, take it to our Heavenly Father in prayer. Pray for direction and wisdom as to which one of the Biblical Fast He would like you to do. Be still and eliminate distractions. Praying to God is best done early in the morning before grabbing any technology or starting the day. I’m not saying that other times are not good; it is just starting your day with him first, which is the best way since it was mentioned in the Bible. “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”Mark 1:35.
Wait to hear from him. God may speak in different ways. “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27.
Do not put God in a box; do not think he has only one way of speaking to you. He may respond by reading a book while you’re going about your day or by talking to a person. “In the past, God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways,” Hebrews 1:1.
He may speak while you read the Bible. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Or God may speak through a still, gentle whisper. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 1 Kings 19:12. For more ways about how God speaks, I made a video you can go to below for more details:
Now that you have prayed and talked to God about which Fast He would like you to do, it is time to prepare.
Needed essentials:
Now it’s time for the fun part! What are the main essentials, and how do I prepare mentally and physically?
Based on my experience, preparing mentally and physically would be helpful before starting a Biblical Fast. What that looks like depends on your schedule and your household, but I’ll share some tips that I’ve done that have helped me:

Must have: WATER, WATER, WATER. The water brand does not matter, but I have found that Alkaline water is fantastic and makes a difference in energy levels and how I feel. I’ve purchased mine from Costco, but I’m sure other brands exist. Again, the type of Water used doesn’t matter. I also drink half a gallon to a gallon of Water daily during the Fast. You can search for how much water your body needs and go from there.

On or after day 3 of the Fast, I began taking a B-Complex, Electrolyte powder, and Fasting salt capsules to supplement vitamins and nutrients during the 21 days.

Overall, you’ll need Water, the suggested items listed above, the Bible, Prayer, Rest, and Repetition.
Clean house: By this, I don’t mean the baseboards and scrub every corner. What does a clean home look like to you? What will give you peace? What needs to be tidied up so it will not be distracting during the Fast? For example, I do not like dirty bathrooms, clutter, or a dirty floor. Those things bother me if they are messy, so I ensure those basic things are clean before starting my Fast. Having those areas in my house clean avoids distractions, and if they need to be cleaned while I am going through my Fast, I typically will ask for help from my husband and kids or even hire someone.
Laundry: Do laundry for the next few days or weeks before going on the Fast.
Meals: If necessary, prepare meals for the week for your family or grocery shop so easy meals are available for your husband/wife or kids. Everyone’s situation is different, so if you don’t need to cook for anyone, that is awesome and good for you; that means one less thing to do. But if not, the goal is to eliminate as much distraction as possible and dedicate that time to worship, pray, and study the Bible.
Family: Talk to family members you live with, especially your spouse, so they know what you will do and that you would appreciate more help if they depend on you.

Disclaimer: Seek a doctor if you have health concerns to ensure this is okay. But if you desire to get off any medications or get healed from anything else, seek the great physician, Jesus Christ, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, for complete deliverance and healing. If you are healthy and not taking any medication, begin and Commit to the finish line.

What is God leading you to do?
Before going on a 21-Day Biblical Fast, and decide to put your plate aside to only drink water, all to seek God and petition him for specific breakthroughs in your life. Seek God in prayer and see what he’s leading you to do. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”Matthew 6:33.
Why am I doing this? What do I want from this Fast? Is God leading me to do this? Have I prayed about it? How long will I be on this fast? Can I start and commit to this Fast? These are essential questions that you should think through before moving forward.

Last but not least, if you are still unsure or have more questions, check out my YouTube playlist, “21 Day Complete Fast,” where I show and talk about how I feel every day while doing a biblical fast. I hope those videos bless you.
Let me pray for you. Heavenly Father, thank you for the individual, my fellow brother or sister in Christ, taking the time out of their day to be led to find and read this blog. I pray that through this blog and videos, they can have some essential tools to help them get closer to you and for you to reveal to them who you are and what you desire for their life. Lord, I pray that Your will be done in their life and that You guide them to discover hidden things that will begin to be visible when they decide to go on a Biblical Fast, all for Your glory. In Jesus’s name, I pray, amen.
