Do you ever hear about something all your life that you become immune to the words, or you don’t believe it can happen to you? Or you catch yourself saying; oh, that’s just them, or How about it doesn’t take all that? Why do humans have to go through an experience where we minimize or become immune to the one thing we are now willing to consider? While I was going through the motions, desperation, Heartaches? and Tired of being sick and tired? I began this life-changing journey with God after being desperate, going through another heartbreak, and just feeling tired of dealing with the opposite sex.
A friend I had at the time mentioned to me how she found a list she wrote a while back, and she couldn’t believe that the man she was currently engaged to had hit everything on that list. I was confused and did not understand, but she mentioned she had prayed for specific qualities, put them away out of sight and mind, and trusted God would bless her one day. I was in awe of what she said, and I had known her for a while. Plus, she hadn’t always been a believer, so her life began to speak volumes to me. I remember thinking that if that could happen to her, it could happen to me. Now, I thought hard and clearly about what qualities were essential since all I have had were terrible experiences in a relationship. I was willing to give this a shot. Plus, I had already committed that I would not engage in sleeping with another man until I was his wife.
Some people may disagree or argue that this doesn’t work, but I believed that power wasn’t on the list but my heart posture and who I decided to prioritize. When I committed in my heart first that I would grow in God and be committed to Him first, I vowed not to sleep or entertain anyone else until God brought me that person. I would focus on being the best mom to my son and continue to work on success in my businesses. I had a plan for myself to look back at whenever I felt discouraged, but little did I know that when you are walking with God, yes, we always expect the best and hope for things to happen a certain way, but ultimately, God has the final say and he can change our plans in an instant.
At the time, I was very new in my faith and sold out to attending church and learning about who God was and what the Bible was all about. I had talked to my friend several times, and she casually asked me if I had written down the qualities I wanted in the man of my dreams. I brushed it off, but one day, I couldn’t shake the idea and finally wrote it down.
It read like this:

When I wrote this down I wrote it in faith believing that one day God would bless me with a husband with these qualities but I was not expecting it by a time frame. As a matter of fact I wanted to reach other goals in my agenda before committing to a relationship. But sometimes the way God works is total contrary to how we would like him to move.
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1
It is funny to say that when God brought my husband, I prayed for him to remove the feelings that began growing towards him because I felt it was too soon to be back in a relationship, and I was not ready. Looking back, I shake my head because God knew what He was doing even tho it did not make logical sense to me.
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. Isaiah 43:19.
Dear reader on the other side of this screen, do not put our God in a box just because what you prayed for did not come when you wanted it to. Or if this season’s changes align differently from what you are expecting. Trust and believe that his plans will always be better than we imagine, even when they do not make sense. One thing I have learned about walking with God is that sometimes, things do not make sense. But at the right time, He will give clarity and revelation as to “why” that had to happen that way if He desires us to know.
I started walking with God in 2017 and have learned so much since then. One of the most beautiful things about this journey has been growing my relationship with him and learning about the power of prayer. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6. God reminds us to pray continuously for our hearts desire. I am a witness that there is power in prayer it just so happens that I wrote down some of my most desired prayers and at the right time my God answered. Has he answered all of my prayers? No but I am still believing in faith. Has he answered other prayers? Absolutely! And that is why I am a firm believer of it. Here are some prayers He has answered that I had wrote down:

Prayer: (Thank you Heavenly for these coming to pass)
-Jan 31st 2021, found out I’m pregnant.
-Meah’s college acceptance 5-5-21
-Mr Matthew Sr healing 12-15-20
-Bae being at baby’s ultrasound 5-17-21
-Our healthy Beautiful Baby 9-9-21
-Our neighbor offered to help with Jalen’s pick up from school August 2021
Many other prayers, some I did not write down, have come to pass. There is a scripture very dear to my heart, and that is: But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33. This means spending time growing a relationship with God and knowing who he is and how he wants you to live, and he will give you the desires of your heart as long as it is his plan for your life. Doing this is a daily work in progress because the demands of life will always get in the way, but as long as you try daily and work on a daily progression and growth, that’s what matters most.
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:17. I have learned that praying is important but how you wait is even more important. What is your posture while you wait? Well here we are reminded to always be joyful. Not just when things are going good and everything is going my way but always. Never stop asking God for the things you desire. Continue asking and in due time he will answer. In every circumstance be grateful because we never know what God is preventing or going to bless us with later. All of this is his will for those that belong to him. I still have things that I am asking God for that he has yet to move on, and at times seem so far but because I have seen him move before I am believing he will move again. Below are a few prayers that I have been asking God to grant me for four years. A little over a month ago he reminded me that he has not forgotten my prayer and answered a part of it. It reads:

On 6-5-19 Re-wrote:
Heavenly Father I come before you declaring that you move the spirits of Papi (my dad), Mami (my mom), Joel (my younger brother), Felo (my little brother), Richelle (Joel’s girlfriend and my nieces mom), and Christina (Felo’s wife and my nephews mom). Father I pray that you transform them from the inside out, that a growing desire to want to get to know you and seek you over powers their being and that they come asking how can I get to know this Jesus, and what must I do to be saved. May they continue to be transformed into positive, Holy Spirit filled, Happier individuals. Father God I pray for an overflow of blessings in different areas of their life. In Jesus Name, Amen!
(2 Corinthians 3:17) For the Lord is the spirit, and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
(Ecclesiastes 4:12) A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

On October 29th, 2023 my little brother Felo accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and On November 19th 2023 I had the honor of walking my mom through salvation and her too accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. If you notice the date I wrote the prayer that only took over four years and the other people have yet to be saved. But God and his mercy is never failing. I am beyond grateful for what he has begun to do in my families life. I know this is just the beginning. Our God can answer prayers for you too the key is to never stop praying and believe.

Heavenly Father, thank you for using me as a willing vessel to speak about your power and goodness in my life and to show others that if you did It for me, you could do it for them, too. Thank you for your promises, which are still yes and amen. Thank you for the ultimate price you paid on the cross. I pray that you protect, guide, and continue to love this reader, following these lines on the other side of this screen. I pray that you wrap your loving arms around them and comfort them like never before. For them to call upon your name and pray for their heart’s deepest desires, and I pray that you show up like never before. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray, Amen.
